Electrolytes - Sports Drink Recipe

Electrolytes Beverage

Electrolyte drinks are great after sports to quench your thirst BUT they are also great for rehydrating your skin.

We live in a climate with VERY cold winters. In these months our skin gets so dry.  Kids playing outside for hours their skin gets so dry and cracked.  We would slather on the hand cream and it helped a little.

I mentioned it to my brother one day and he said he drinks Gatorade to help, he would drink it and it helped hydrate his skin.

(please note I am not a doctor nor do I have any studies to prove that this is true only from personal experience ...just a Mom looking for a solution)

So we tried it and it worked! Dry skin was healing.

Thinking that we could create our own was a fun idea since we drink it often.

We created three different flavors using the same recipe just switching out the juice flavour and the lemon or lime flavour.  My family likes the sweeter versions so we use juice from concentrate but you can also make a more natural version with 100% Fruit Juice.
